Screen of sand
A thin layer of white Lochaline sand is glued to stretched nylon mesh, producing a translucent surface.
A construction made of thin strips of veneer or paper is attached behind it, perpendicular to the screen.
A background is then added to reflect light through the composition and onto the picture plane.
The colouring and shading of the internal composition radiates onto the sand surface
as a two dimensional image.
Veneers of wood, sycamore and walnut, placed behind a screen of sand.
