Rotation
The works shown are the result of a process using lightweight constructions balanced
on a revolving shaft. The orbital motion is generated by a small clock motor connected
to a thin rod housed wihin a carbon fibre tube. The movement of the selected forms is
recorded on video and processed with an echo animation, revealing all their positions
throughout a full rotation. By combining these multiple perspectives an array of
sculptural forms and patterns emerges.. Several of these videos are currently
on display at The RBSA Gallery in Birmingham.
